Zingerman's Creamery
Part of the Zingerman's family of businesses; both produces fresh cheeses and runs the Cream Top Shop.
Founded in 2001 as a creamery extension of the original Zingerman's Deli (1982, Ann Arbor), the Creamery produces fresh and bloomy-rind cheeses on-premises. The Cream Top Shop attached to the creamery is a retail counter for both Zingerman's own production and curated imports. Influenced by Zingerman's broader philosophy (open-book management, employee-ownership orientation, deep producer relationships), the Creamery focuses on fresh and short-aged cheeses where freshness genuinely matters. Distribution remains primarily local (Ann Arbor and Michigan), with mail-order via Zingerman's broader business. Not the largest or oldest US producer, but one of the most editorially clear about its values.
